The Geometry of Living - Towers

“My ambition is not simply to build architecturally, but to build socialistically as well.”

[Berthold Lubetkin, architect, who designed Cranbrook Estate]

The Geometry of Living series, initially inspired by the Cranbrook Estate in London's Bethnal Green (but also many others), contemplates functionality of the modern estate architecture. It is a reflection on the relatively rapid transformation of modernist housing architecture - from grand social ideology and middle-class dream housing in the sixties into, only half a century later, council estates populated by the poorest fraction of society, which very often become crime and drug hotspots.

The series incorporates various printmaking styles: etching, aquatint, photolithography and screen printing. All prints are printed by hand.
